Worth Valley Steam, 30th May 2022

For my first train ride in quite a considerable while, a trip on a Monday on the Worth Valley Railway, which I first visited 43 years ago.

BR 2MT 78022 brings the coaches out of the carriage sidings at Oxenhope.

Running around at Keighley. 78022 was built at BR Darlington in 1954.

Admiration before the first down train of the day from Keighley.

After its return from Oxenhope, 78022 comes off the train at Keighley.

Making a departure from Keighley. 78022 was being fuelled with bio-coal.

At Ingrow, 78022 prepares to enter the tunnel.

Seen at Haworth, LMS Class 2MT tank 41241 was working the previous day, and again later in the week. 41241 was built at BR Crewe in 1949, to a LMS Ivatt design, is a tank version with similar heritage to 78022.

Paused for a station stop at Haworth.

LMS Class 3F 47279 (Vulcan Foundry, 1924) is on display in the Oxenhope exhibition shed.

78022 waits at Oakworth for a wedding party to disembark from the train.
