66591 is being fitted with Siemens ETCS equipment. "As owner and operator of 66591" suggests that the locomotive is no longer leased from HBOS. It was stored between January and February, and again from May this year.

Eastleigh Works: Visit by 'Diggle Junction', which appears to have been in mid-February 2024

The Eastleigh Depot derailment on 21st involved the Works Kof, which is reported as having overrun to encounter the catch points.

YKA Osprey wagons - a discussion about their unexpected longevity. Also, noted that all Coalfish, OBA and OCA are now all withdrawn, and the red box MXAs are over a third withdrawn.

"The Swanage Belle", 26th June 2024

The stock was essentially the same CDL Mk2 ac set seen on The Cumbrian Mountain Express on1st June.

Following multiple lineside fires on the down run, 44871 and its support coach were 'grounded' by Network Rail at Swanage, and the return was run by 47826, routing via Eastleigh and Winchester. A working is awaited to return 44871 to Southall.

The highlight was 5Z21 13:14 Eastleigh Arlington - Crewe H.S., led by 37409 Loch Awe in ScotRail colours.

86259 climbs Shap, 1st June 2024

86259 / E3137 Les Ross / Peter Pan 1Z41 06:35 London Euston - Carlisle, as part of the 'Cumbrian Coast Express'.

The train is seen working past Low Moor cottages.

E3137 was new to traffic from BR Doncaster Works on 15th January 1966, later numbered 86045 and then 86259 from May 1975, when modified to 86/2 specification with Flexicoil suspension and SAB wheels..

Going away shot as it continues to climb past Scout Green.

The coaches were a CDL compliant rake, mainly Mk2 air conditioned. 3352 was once part of the FM Rail Blue Pullman rake.

6724 is a  Restaurant Miniature Buffet First, converted from TSO 5721, TSOT later 6665 and further converted for First GWR.

The Leven Train, 7th June 2024

Train services for the public started from Leven on 2nd June. Service is currently hourly, via Kirkcaldy. I made my journey on the following Friday.

Swanage Railway Diesel Gala, 10th May 2024 Part 4: D5054 'Phil Southern'

1160hp Sulzer D5054, later 24054, was built at BR Crewe and introduced into traffic in December 1959. Stored from Crewe Diesel (CD) in May 1976 and withdrawn on 17th July 1976. Sent to the Western Region in August 1976 as ADB968008. a  carriage heating unit. Arrived at the East Lancashire Railway for preservation in October 1983.
