1Z91 08:46 Victoria - Weymouth, where it arrived 31 minutes late.

Return 1Z94 17:36 Weymouth - Waterloo was revised to a Class 47 schedule with 47812, terminating at Clapham Junction. 45212 is reported as having been failed at Weymouth, with a hot box on the tender.

The locomotive seems to have been running short of water, and an extra filling was made at Test Lane.


6176 is a Mk2f TSO built at BREL Derby to Lot 30874 in early 1975. Operated on the ScotRail Fife Circle under lease from Riviera.

BSK 9527 was a Riviera Trains coach, overhauled at Eastleigh in 2016, and hired to DRS for the Fife Circle.

57314 and coach movements, Salisbury, 26th April 2025

57314 Conwy Castle 5Z92 12:50 Salisbury - East Yard - Salisbury

57314 in platform 4, while 35028 and support coach were being uncoupled. Formerly 47372, delivered as D1891 from Brush, Loughborough in August 1965.

57314 hauls the empty stock to the East Yard.


Mk2f FO 3352 (BREL Derby, Lot 30859 1973) was once part of the FM Rail Blue Pullman rake.


Mk2d 6724 (BREL Derby, Lot 30822, 1971) is a  Restaurant Miniature Buffet First, converted from TSO 5721, TSOT later 6665 and further converted for First GWR.

Mk2f BSO 9539 (BREL Derby, Lot 30861, 1974) was in the Riviera fleet until 2024, and spent a period on lease for the ScotRail Fife Circle workings until 2019.

57314 later propelled the rake back into platform 4.

The Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express, Scout Green, 22nd February 2025

34067 + 57315 1Z86 06:49 London Euston - Carlisle. Steam from Carnforth, then return by Settle & Carlisle, to Preston.

34067 Tangmere + 47746 Chris Fudge 29.7.70-22.6.10 T+T "The Cumbrian Mountain Express" 1Z86 06:30 London Euston - Carlisle. 86259 handed over to 34067 at Carnforth. with a 1 hour delay. The Class 47 was shoving hard as a Pendolino Class 390 was on its tail, and the special was recessed into the loop at Shap Summit.

This locomotive is air-brake fitted, so can work with the CDL fitted Mk2 coaches.

44871 (LMS Crewe, 1945) approaches Romsey. 

Owner Ian Riley has just leased another Black 5, 45163, for a main line overhaul, with a target of 2027, which is when 45212 will be due a 10 year overhaul.
