802015, with fresh paint, came out first 5X80 11:41 Eastleigh Works Gbrf - Eastleigh Works Gbrf, and was turned around in platform 2, returning to the Works.


802015 in platform 2, while the crew walked through the train.


802114 then came out, also 5X80, with unit number in windscreen, as the unit was partially rubbed down for paintwork, and missing many unit and coach numbers.


802015 then came out of the Works for a second time 5X81 12:30 Eastleigh Works Gbrf - Reading, although by this time it was 13:41.

66107 on the naughty step in Eastleigh Yard, 28th November. The loco was jacked up at the far end, and a wheel skate was attached, understood to be for a traction motor defect.

56094 and 56051 Survival, Eastleigh Yard, 28th November. It is expected that Colas will shortly reduce its Class 56 fleet - 56087 (wheelsets) and 56096 are reported as sidelined.

57305 worked (+ 458403) to Wembley, but failed and was replaced by 47739, to run to Bournemouth one day later. 

70008 has been turned out in a 'Freightliner 60' scheme. It may not be to everybody's taste..

70020 was brought south behind 70017 on 4O90 from Leeds on Tuesday 19th, and finally was let out on its own on 4M61 Maritime - Trafford Park om Wednesday 20th. It has also been returned to the normal usage pool. Flickr for the week.

70020 at Eastleigh, 19th November 2024

70020 has been released from captivity, following its repaint, and a couple of drags to and from Southampton. Just before it was allowed out on its own, it was dragged down by 70017 in 4O90 06:04 Leeds F.L.T. - Southampton M.C.T.on Tuesday 19th November. It worked 4M61 on its own on Wednesday, returning on 4O22, and continues in traffic (but evaded me on 22nd, it seems by changes in allocation at Maritime through the day).

37421 arrives at Eastleigh from Totton.

37421 was built as D6967, new to traffic on 13th February 1965. Later 37267, and converted to 37421 in December 1985, initially allocated to Inverness.

Both cabs were full of staff, it seemed as part of a driver training run.
