New batch of FEA-G wagons for GBRf traffic, Eastleigh, 26th April 2024

 

66728, with nameplate missing on one side, 4M46 14:21 Southampton W Docks (Gbrf) -Trafford Pk Euro Tml Gbrf. The train included a batch of 20 new FEA-G wagons 81.70.4663.321-7 to 340-7 in 10 pairs. Overall, 200 wagons have been approved within this second batch, plus another 40 for Wascosa.. The 20 wagons were delivered from Greenbrier-Astra Rail in Romania, and were first reported in Southampton on 8th - 9th March.

800018 was in Eastleigh Works for over two months, but no signs of the visible corrective repair actions when seen outside on 22nd, then returned to GWR the following day. Unless the set of modifications have been changed in some way?

35005 Canadian Pacific was moved by road from Eastleiegh Works back to Ropley on 25th, for eventual return of its boiler Facebook X.com Flickr for the day and at Alresford on 26th.

The dual numbering, of stickers and cast plate, has already been removed. Will there be any more repaints in G&W colours?


153376 has been seen before since it was repainted, but it has now received full yellow ends, which makes it look asymmetrical.


This is the original Leyland built Class 155 end.of 57376 (originally 57326 of 155326, which saw service from Cardiff).


This ens is that from the Hunslet-Barclay rebuild at Kilmarnock.

69009 WESTERN CONSORT spent some time in the yard through the week ...

... before being dragged to Doncaster overnight on 18th - 19th.

66734 PLATINUM JUBILEE was painted in this scheme in June 2022.

This one is a puzzle. It appears to be a RFKB, to the same pattern as 10224, which was disposed of in 2021. Thus it appears to be 10212 - the Platform 5 book still shows as with ERS at Yarmouth.

71829, formerly part of 442412, has been shunted in the yard.

47749 clags on departure from Eastleigh, thankfully a tad late, as this was a VST working, in place of a 701 move from Wimbledon.
