40145 was delivered as D345 from English Electric Vulcan Foundry in May 1961. was air braked in October 1969, renumbered in January 1974,.and was withdrawn following derailment damage in June 1983. Following this it was the first locomotive taken on by the Class Forty Preservation Society.
