37264 came down from Grosmont in the morning to cover for J27 65894 which was poorly, then continued with its diagram through the day. It led a busier life for the remainder of the month, as steam was banned over the moorland section following a lineside fire.
37264 was new as D6964 in January 1965, first allocated to Sheffield Darnall. It was renumbered in January 1974, and withdrawn by EWS in July 2000. It was back in action from 2009, after repairs at Tyseley, and following appearance at the Severn Valley, Swanage, and the Midland Railway, Butterley, it has spent more than a decade at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, where it operates south of Grosmont. Recently, it was taken by 31128 to Leeds in March for tyre turning.

The locomotive was then involved in both a run around, and a shunt of the Pullman Dining stock before backing down onto its train.
