Aggregates watching at Romsey, week of 14th November 2022

25 of the O&K JYA wagons were moved away from Westbury by 66952 as 7M36 to Basford Hall on Monday 14th, with 66957 powering onward 7E53 movement to Gascoigne Wood on Tuesday 15th. Steven Clements, a Flickr contributor, captured the entire train at departure (use left arrow), and the train was later seen passing Pontypool.

This leaves 10 wagons, although 3 are in storage at Exeter. Most recently seen here only on Merehead workings to Chichester, and it seems unlikely that we will see boxes in Class 7 45 mph trains in future, although the nocturnal hopper workings to Eastleigh and Botley continue as such. For boxes, the focus moves on to the 1998 Marcroft JNAs.

Monday 14th November

66604 6V16 12:07 Fareham - Whatley, passing Crampmoor.

The all Greenbrier JNA set was the same as that recorded on the preceding Friday, where this is highest numbered 81.70.5932.520-6.

Tuesday 15th November - workings to Fareham, Chichester and Up Yard

66602 6V16 12:07 Fareham  - Whatley, passing Romsey.

Blue VTG JNA 81.70.5932.463-9 and the single older wagon beyond, VTG 3463.

66621 6V62 1321 Up Yard - Whatley, which was an all Greenbrier JNA set, the same on as worked to Fareham on the day before, but turned around by running around Southampton.

81.70.5932.494-4 on the rear.

In fading light, 66512 6V07 13:41 Chichester - Merehead.

The single older wagon was JNA VTG 3444., otherwise the rake was of Greenbrier JNAs.

The last wagon was 81.70.5932.541-2, and the highest numbered was 81.70.5932.569-3, reflecting the July and October deliveries.

Wednesday 16th November

59203 passing Romsey with 6V62 13:21 Southampton Up Yard (Fl) - Whatley Quarry F Liner Hh.

The set was all Greenbrier JNA. but no blue wagons, plus 4 older JNAs VTG 3404 (above), 3437, 3447 and 3457, a group previously noted several times.
