Exceptional Diverts at Romsey, including 69001, 4th May 2021

A signalling cable failure, with a need for replacement, closed the Reading - Basingstoke line at Southcote Junction. Many Freightliner trains did not operate, some trains operated via the Portsmouth Direct, and two STP workings were diverted by Swindon, Westbury and Salisbury.

Two views of 57305, working 0Y86 06:34 Oxford Down Carriage Sdg - Eastleigh, but running both late and diverted. The locomotive later did work 319009 to Brush, Loughborough.

69001 (formerly 56031, the first BREL Doncaster built example) has been tested on the Severn Valley Railway, and was being delivered to Eastleigh for painting.

Windscreen wipers have now been fitted, the loco was without these when on the SVR, and similarly 69002 at Eastleigh.

66794 was previously '29005' Ted Gaffney, while operating for HHPI - Heavy Haul Power International and later Crossrail, but the plates have been removed.

A final look at 66794, which is also numbered 92 80 1266 029-8 D-BRLL EMD serial 20038513-5, completed in 2003, and initially in service as '6610' with ERS of the Netherlands.
