Two Brush designed locomotive bodies, as 69004 is seen with 47830 in the distance at Maritime.


69004 bears a 'Tonbridge Trailblazers' headboard, appropriate since believed to be the first Class 69 to the south and west of Northam Junction.

Freightliner at Eastleigh, 29th April 2022

Nothing too remarkable, a routine set of intermodal and aggregates workings, with two light locomotives for civil engineering workings over the weekend.

66615 has been working from the Somerset quarries for the past month, here with 7V16 11:55 Fareham - Whatley. 

66416 4M61 12:24 Maritime - Trafford Park.

Both were recorded in the Battersea area over the weekend.

Swanage Convoy at Redbridge, 3rd May 2022

Two Brushes. The convoy is firstly shown passing 47830 at Maritime.

Oldest in the convoy, 31128 CHARYBDIS (D5546, Brush, August 1959, re-engined August 1965) of Nemesis Rail, led the formation.

37703 (also bearing 37067 on this side), was recently sold by DRS to Harry Needle Railroad Company, and some observers advise that it may become a spares source. (D6767, EE Vulcan Foundry, November 1962). Formerly on loan by DRS to the SRPS Diesel Group.

The 57/3 had worked from Reading in the morning, and returned there in the afternoon, via Worting.


DVT 82220, which along with 12215, 10305 and 12324, previously ran in set BN18.

66792 has a new Collaboration nameplate, which appears to to have been applied at Eastleigh, and unveiled at Felixstowe on 27th April.

47727 makes a 701 delivery, Eastleigh, 29th April 2022

Actually, a re-delivery, as 701031 was first delivered on 7th May 2021. It entered Eastleigh Works on 12th July 2021, and was later seen in the line-up at the T&RSMD. A return to Derby started on 16th March, but the working was recessed at Woking.

47727 Edinburgh Castle / Caisteal Dhùn Èideann (BR Crewe, new 17th October 1964) runs through platform 3.

Note the bespoke coupler arrangement.

Coupler and pipes attached to 701031. There is translator equipment within the locomotive.

701031 is moved onward to the carriage sidings. 47727 later returned to Leicester.

Eastleigh Works, 29th April 2022

 37716 appears to have entered the works in the past week.

New arrival 66734 (2nd, formerly PB04, EMD 20008254-6) for painting.

Riviera RB 1671 (Pressed Steel,Lot 30628, 1960) prepared for painting, along with 08451 (BR Derby, 5th December 1958).
