Class 458 testing, Eastleigh, 23rd November 2023

 

458423 leads 5Q90 1119 Bournemouth T&R.S.M.D to Basingstoke. This unit was moved to Bournemouth on 26th September.

New yaw damper arrangement attached between body and bogie, for higher speed running, restoring the 100 mph maximum speed specification. These dampers caused the clearance concerns earlier in the year.

458417 was the first unit re-delivered from Widnes on 18th July. Will these units enter service before Class 701?
