LNER HST rundown: 1W03 07:08 Leeds - Aberdeen


1W03 07:08 Leeds - Aberdeen is expected to convert to Azuma IEP operation from around 2nd December. [UPDATE: Following the Azuma incident at Leeds, this was to be the last to convert, operated by EC61 43307+43308 on 14th December].

Some pictures from the last month of LNER HST operations, at locations along the Fife coast.

43307 passing Aberdour on 4th November. 43296 was on the rear.

43310, also passing Aberdour, on 5th November. Its pair was 43311. [This pair and the coupled set EC52 went to EMR after 24th November and this ECS on 26th took it to Craigentinny for modifications. 43311 to Ely on 13Dec]

43295 on 11th, the paired power car was 43367. This well cared for station dates from 1890, built to access the Forth Bridge.

43277, again at Aberdour, on 14th. The rear power car was 43305.

43277 and 43305 together again the next day, 15th, at Burntisland.

43290 (denamed mtu fascination of power) approaching Aberdour, on 16th, with 43208 on the rear. This car is scheduled to be withdrawn, but the 43300 collision may have a bearing upon this.

43318 with 40 years of HST trains logo on 18th at Kinghorn. 43314 was the other power car.

43272 leads at Aberdour on 22nd, when 43296 was on the rear.
