67029 Royal Diamond 1W13 05:43 Swansea - Manchester Piccadilly.

The set was HD03, and returned with 82216 leading, as 1V39 10:30 Manchester Piccadilly - Cardiff Central. This set was delivered to TfW from Eastleigh on 20th April 2020.

82220 leads a reformed set HD02 with 1W55 08:53 Cardiff Central - Manchester Piccadilly. HD02 was involved in a collision on 20th May, and has been reformed with the leading three coaches of HD08, which was spare and out of traffic. 82220 was sent to Eastleigh on 2nd May 2022, and to Landore on 16th July 2022.

The power for this train was 67020.

The third working was 1W57 10:53 Cardiff Central - Manchester Piccadilly, led by 67008.

DVT 82227 as part of set HD06, which came to TfW in the Grand Central black scheme, delivered from Eastleigh to Landore on 18th June 2022.

Further services were in the hands of CAF Class 197 dmus. 197034 + 197027 1W16 07:00 Milford Haven - Manchester Piccadilly.

37409 and 90026 return to Crewe, Shawford, 6th October 2025

West Coast diesels to Scotland, Scout Green, 2nd October 2025

47804 + 37516 + coach 5239 + 37706 5Z37 12:20 Carnforth Steamtown - Larbert

• 37706 detached at Carstairs
  
• 37516 seen on the Larbert - Perth section  on route proving, in the wake of Storm Amy, on 4th.
  
• 47804 and the coach to Fort William on 6th.

The train is seen passing Scout Green, with 47804 leading.

5239 LEIGH with table lamps and Central Door Locking. This coach is recorded as air-braked, and 47804 may be taking it to Fort William.

Eastleigh Works, 5th October 2025

 

37409 Loch Awe + 90026 (+ 6393 + 6394) which are expected to depart as 5Z90 09:43 Eastleigh - Crewe on Monday 6th.

A closer view of 90026, which was new in March 1989, recently painted in the LSL LNWR black scheme at their Crewe facility.

08567 was attached to the 'Britannic Explorer' set. The set for Chiltern is believed to be 68026 + CH04 (TPE04), which arrived on Tuesday 30th September.

Apedale Valley Light Railway, 27th September 2025

The Apedale Railway is located in a former colliery area to the north west of Newcastle-under-Lyme, quite close to the M6 motorway. The railway has been created, and is operated, by the volunteers of the Moseley Railway Trust, and celebrated a 15th Anniversary Gala on 13th and 14th September.

On my visit, the first train of the day, at 11:30, was run by DH887, Baguley Drewry 3756 of 1982, which worked for the MoD, latterly at Dean Hill one two.

43257 leads through the station.

43251 on the rear of the train. The second coach, 9810 is Network Rail support coach, hired from Eastern Rail Services. Originally Mk2e 5892 built as a TSO to Lot 30844 at BREL Derby in 1973, and converted at Wolverton in 1999 to a BUO (Brake Unclassified Open) for Caledonian Sleeper usage.
