No apparent changes in the wagon fleet following delivery of the blue JNAs, formations still often including some of the Marcroft 1998 JNAs. 59103 Village of Mells passing Romsey with 6V62 13:21 Up Yard - Merehead, on 2nd May. These workings usually return to Whatley.

VTG 3457 was the Marcroft 1998 JNA in  the formation.

At Eastleigh, on 3rd May, 66605 was in charge of 6V62 to Whatley.

The Nuneham Viaduct re-routings are not running well for southbound traffic, typically running an hour late by Eastleigh. Northbound not much better.

66718 Sir Peter Hendy CBE arrived at the Works on Saturday 29th, apparently for a livery refresh, noting that the gentleman is now Baron Hendy of Richmond Hill.

73141 SPA VALLEY RAILWAY 25 YEAR ANNIVERSARY arrived in Eastleigh on Tuesday 25th April, for a wheelset change,.

Mk 2E BSO 9502 of the Belmond British Pullman, built to Lot 30838 at Derby, entering traffic in April 1972. [Update: may now be owned by Locomotive Services.]

Strathspey Railway Mixed Traffic Gala, 7th April 2023 part 3: 27050

When new, this locomotive was numbered D5394, delivered from BRCW on 20th June 1962 to Cricklewood. It migrated to the Scottish Region in 1968, and was later assigned to the intensive Edinburgh - Glasgow push-pull service as 27106, retaining its boiler, and where I first saw it in the 1970s. After the 47/7's arrived, it became 27050 in 1982 after an Intermediate General Repair, and was withdrawn in July 1987, in the mass withdrawal, after which it entered preservation in 1988. It has spent more time at Strathspey than in BR service!

Midland Pullman at Romsey, 1st May 2023

43055 + 43046 43055 1Z43 05:16 Bournemouth - Llandudno - which later lost 100 mins between Patchway and Severn Tunnel East, for reasons, which may have related to a line obstruction, two preceding trains appear to have reversed, one returning to Bristol.

43055 slows to stop at Romsey, a rare HST call at this station.
