800111 arrived on Saturday with 801110, and continued acting as a tractor to move returning 801108 from Eastleigh to Acton, then onwards to Doncaster Carr, via Lincoln and Gainsborough.

Class 70s at Eastleigh, 4th May 2019

70007 heads back to Maritime an hour early, having brought empty flats from Maritime to East Yard. Between February and May a new door cover has been provided above the multiple working receptacle. 70007 had arrived from Trafford Park earlier in the morning.

70015 was worked DIT in 4O05 07:03 from Birch Coppice, it had worked north the previous evening.

As anticipated, 66415 is in the paintshop at Eastleigh, and was noted rubbed down on 1st May. 66419 is at Maritime for this weekend, having arrived on Saturday morning.

Class 73 locomotives at Eastleigh, 1st May 2019

The unexpected arrival of the week was 73002, which was moved by truck on 30th April from the Dean Forest Railway, and delivered to the East Yard by 1st May as seen here. On 2nd, 66779 moved 73002 to the works, where it is expected to receive a cosmetic restoration for Locomotive Services Ltd., who may display it at their Margate facility. 66719 shunts the yard, and 08460 and 08511 are parked to the right.

JA 73002 was completed as E6002 at Eastleigh Carriage Works (now the bus garages and industrial area to the east of the station) in March 1962. Latterly used on Merseyrail, based at Birkenhead, it was withdrawn briefly in 1993, then again in November 1995, it was later preserved at the Dean Forest Railway, acting as spares for 73001. Locomotive Services are also understood to have acquired 73001, which has been moved to Crewe, reportedly for return to the main line one two.

JB 73213 Rhodalyn was new from English Electric Vulcan Foundry in February 1966 as E6018. It has been on the works for much of the past month.

Works shunter 73133 was similarly new from Vulcan Foundry, but in August 1966 as E6040.

43302 World Speed Record - HST leads 1S20 14:00 London Kings Cross - Aberdeen at Aberdour on 15th April. New as 43102 in October 1978.

43316 was on the rear. New as 43116 in March 1979.

43300 Craigentinny 100 YEARS 1914 - 2014 leads 1S20 14:00 London Kings Cross - Aberdeen at Aberdour on 17th April. New as 43100 in August 1978.

43251 on the rear, new as 43051 in April 1977.

43239 leads 1E11 07:52 Aberdeen - London Kings Cross at Aberdour on Thursday 18th. As 43039 this powercar was new in December 1976.

43272 was on the rear, new as 43072 in December 1977.

43238 National Railway Museum 40 years 1975 - 2015 comes off the Tay Bridge approach at Dundee on 18th with 1S03 07:08 Leeds - Aberdeen. New as 43038 in December 1976.

43296 was on the rear, and passes the parked ScotRail set at Dundee. New as 43096 in July 1978.
