More on the new VTG wagons at Mendip Rail, week of 24th October 2022

Following from the preceding week, no JYA or KEA wagons noted, but the pool 810 VTG 3404 to 3467 series of JNA wagons can still be seen.

Wednesday 26th October


66520 7V16 12:07 Fareham - Whatley, passing Romsey, Wednesday 26th. All of the wagons were of the Greenbrier JNA 60m³ pattern. The first wagon 81.70.5932.519-8 was the highest numbered.


81.70.5932.464-7 on the rear.


An hour later, 66604 followed with 6V62 13:21 Up Yard - Whatley. The leading JNA was VTG 3410, and the highest numbered new wagon was 81.70.5932.510-7.

Thursday 27th October


66952 slowing to a halt at Romsey, with 7V07 13:41 Chichester - Merehead. Some of the wagons were the same as a similar working last week.


This week, a firm sighting of 81.70.5932.572-7.


81.70.5932.574-3 delivered to Merehead on 12th October, was the highest numbered I have seen, the highest delivered in the series is 580..

Friday 28th October:
 

Approaching Eastleigh, 66621 leads  6V62 13:21 Up Yard - Whatley, with what appears to be a shuffle of the rake used on the same train two days earlier.


Highest numbered new wagon in the rake was 81.70.5932.510-7.
