The first part of the Wednesday 1Q53 is a short leg from Eastleigh - Southampton Up Yard. 37610 was pictured paused at a signal at St Denys. 37610 was delivered new as D6881 from English Electric Robert Stephenson & Hawthorns at Darlington on 21st October 1963, allocated to Cardiff Canton. Renumbered to 37181 in February 1974. Heavy General Repair and renumbered to 37687 in March 1987. In August 1995 transferred to the European Passenger Services sector and renumbered 37610, then to DRS from July 1997. Sold to Locomotive Services in March 2017, then to HNRC in July 2018 for Colas workings - it was said that removal of the Wipac clusters to return to a heritage look was too challenging, but 47853 moved in the opposite direction.

Heavy General completed in February 1987 and returned to service as 37691. In December 1995 transferred to the European Passenger Services sector and renumbered 37612, then to DRS from July 1997. Sold to HNRC in the November 2016 auction, delivered in July 2017.
