Two Bo'ness regulars. 

37025, new in August 1961, was ready for the first train of the morning.


After a 2nd career with Colas, 37025 returned to Bo'ness with wheelsets attention required. Here seen running around at Manuel.

Scot-Rail Inter7City HSTs, June 2023

ASLEF have indicated that they will not work HST trains after 12th August, and may be seeking a commitment that the trains will be gone by 2030, as a potential agreement. Here are some Scottish examples in June.

9F 92134 arriving at Pickering with the ECS for the first train of the day.

92134 at Grosmont in the afternoon, about to handover to 31128, which worked the train onward to Whitby. It had completed winter maintenance earlier in the month. Compare with my previous visit in 1982.

Q6 63395 suffered a right hand cylinder failure, and the repair or replacement is now the subject of an appeal.

Other locomotives in the running shed were 76079 and 30926 Repton.

5428 (45428) Eric Treacy was receiving attention involving the smokebox door.

The locomotive subsequently returned to traffic on the Whitby section.

47593 led solo in the return, approaching Southampton station.


47593, unexpectedly on the rear. Whatever happened, the loco worked to Carlisle in the following days.
