Class 37s on ECS from Taunton, 9th June 2019


37038 + 37059 5Z76 14:00 Fairwater Yard - Westbury (run around) - Eastleigh
then 0Z76 17:33 Eastleigh - Crewe

After a pause near the Sun Arch at Romsey, 37038 + 37059 accelerate past Crampmoor.

37038 was new as D6738 from English Electric Vulcan Foundry on 11th May 1962, and was first allocated to Hull Dairycoates. Stored by EWS in March 1999, and sent to Wigan CRDC, where it was withdrawn in December 1999. Acquired by Ian Riley of Bury, and returned into main line use from April 2000, including hire work with Freightliner. To DRS in May 2003, displayed repainted at the Crewe Works Open Day. Stored for repair in 2004 - 06, stored January 2013, repaired and returned to traffic in June 2016.

37059 was new from English Electric Vulcan Foundry as D6759 on 12th October 1962. Renumbered to 37059 on 16th November 1973. Stored by EWS in January 1999, and moved ownership to DRS on 19th July 2003. Overhauled and returned to service in 2003, stored in April 2012, to Barrow Hill, returned to usage in October 2014.

21269 is a BCK built at Derby in 1964 to lot 30732.
