66597 slowly approaches with 4O57 13:14 Wentloog - Maritime.

The wagon consist of 4O57 was mainly formed from KTA pocket wagons, no less than 22 of them. Of the original 75 KTA wagons, about 62 appear to be in traffic, following some reduction in the past year. 20 went into storage in Bristol from January, and 15 of these were identified in this formation of 4O57. Advice has been received to expect mainly pocket wagons on the Wentloog working for the foreseeable future. In time, the length inefficient KTAs may be for return to lessor / disposal after Freightliner receive more FWA Ecofrets later this year.

Miscellany at Eastleigh, 12th July 2021

 

RSS 08511, which left Eastleigh on 5th March, for repairs, resumed shunting following a return about 14th April.

Class 455/7 5731 was running empty stock from Wimbledon - Bournemouth. Three of the coaches were delivered in October 1984.

TS Coach 71555 was originally delivered in May 1980 in 508030, the remainder of which became 508130 in September 1984, soon coming to its end of service on Merseyside.

Test Train at Eastleigh, 12th July 2021

The monthly test train worked back from Tonbridge on Saturday - Sunday, and was stabled in the yard through Monday daytime.

Eastleigh Works, 12th July 2021

 

57303 Pride of Carlisle was moved to outside the Works, and was later pushed inside by 08507. It is expected to acquire the bogies from 57311.

By the afternoon, 317722 had been shunted, with TS 71598 in the scrapping area, and DTC 77069 closer to the camera.

MS 62682, from 317722,with its ac traction package, had been extracted, and was away from the scrap line.

769943 in storage at the Works.    

701031 ran into the Works in the morning.
