Time for some candles, 47401 was delivered as D1500 on 28th September 1962. First noted in my book on 3rd November 1978.

Class 43 locomotive successfully tested with in-cab signalling in Leicestershire

A day in Class 47 history, Romsey, 21st September 2007

15 years ago today, conveniently a Friday, saw the test run from Eastleigh Works for the newly overhauled 47727 and 47749, for Colas Rail. 

One week to a bigger anniversary. 

47749 Demelza leads the test train into Romsey. This example was rescued after a month in the EMR scrapyard at Kingsbury, earlier in 2007.

Both locomotives remain active for GBRf, and have seen recent regular use on empty stock workings to and from Eastleigh.

69003 is in Eastleigh East Yard for crew training purposes.

Mk2C BFK 14123 is in the East Yard, awaiting transfer to the works. Expected to become a support coach for 50021 & 50026.

Eastleigh Works and T&RSMD, 10th September 2022

The Works was hosting a charity visit event for the Inter City Railway Society. While photography within the works is restricted, this selection was through the fence from Campbell Road.

37069 and 69006. The 69 left the Works on Tuesday 13th.

Mk 1 RBR 1671 was moved to Knottingley on 13th.

43480. Hanson & Hall appear to no longer in partnership with RailAdventure, who have now acquired SLC Operations, leaving a separate SLC Rail.

67027 and 67023 had been moved to inside the Works.

142014, now owned by Locomotive Services, is expected to be broken for spares.
