'Cromptons' on the West Somerset Railway, 30th - 31st August 2025

While the reason for visiting was the 'Hymek 50' event, there are also a couple of very presentable Class 33s.

D6566 (33048) arriving at Minehead on the showery afternoon of 30th August.  Headcode 'KA' was inspired.

D6566 running around at Minehead.

D6575 (33057) was assigned as 'Thunderbird' at Minehead, but thankfully saw no use in this role. Seen in a moment of sunshine, 30th August.

Later, again at Williton, with the return working of the same train.

Arriving at Watchet with another working to Minehead.

Hymek 50, West Somerset Railway, 30th - 31st August 2025: part 2 - Double Headed

D7017 (left) is attached to the train while D7018 runs through the station at Bishop's Lydeard.

D7018 now coupled up for the 12:25 to Minehead, the only double headed working of the day. The uphill pull from Bishop's Lydeard was impressive, loaded with 8 coaches.

The pair are seen soon after leaving Williton for Watchet.

Running around at Minehead, where D7017 was to lead the return.

Readying the pair at Minehead.

Both locomotives would have been together in Beyer Peacock at Gorton in later 1961.

Going downhill from Washford to Watchet.

At Watchet waiting for platform activity to complete.
