Bank Holiday HST Divert on the GW & GC, 6th May 2018

The location is Gerrard's Cross on the GW & GC Joint Railway, now the Chiltern Main Line.

43164 leads 1Z24 08:07 Penzance to London Marylebone (via Didcot, Oxford and Bicester).

43164 is leased from Angel Trains, and may have a future career in Scotland.

43092 was on the rear. This power car is in First Group ownership. The infamous Tesco tunnel is in the distance.

Current day and 8th April 1981  pictures of the station at Gerrards Cross. In 1981 there were still fast through roads through the centre of the station, with semaphore signalling. The through roads were disused from 1985 and removed in 1989. The footbridge is relatively unchanged, and its pillar allows a reference into the today's two track arrangement.

On 8th April 1981 a Class 115 dmu draws into the station, with signal box visible in the background, eventually closed on 11th August 1990. It was involved in the collision at Seer Green on 11th December 1981.
