The "Innocent Railway" tunnel, completed in 1831 as the first railway tunnel in Scotland, last used by trains to St. Leonard's goods in 1968, and now a pedestrian route and cycleway. Seen marked above "Newington" on this 1945 map.

66601 The Hope Valley leads south at Aberdour on 19th August. This is the only regular freight on this line.

Eight days later, the same locomotive leads the train, which runs full via Stirling thus avoiding the Tay Bridge. The 1890 completed signalbox was in use until December 1979 and is now a listed building. There were plans for a cafe, but the promoter appears to have established elsewhere in the village.

WNXX.com reports that DBS have stored all of their Class 08 / 09 shunters, with the exception of 08623 at Hoo and 09106 at Warrington. Class 66's take over some of the duties.

08879 survived to this point, latterly at Oxford Hinksey. Seen here at Didcot on 25th May.

08904 was reported to be at Eastleigh to this change.
