- Ashfield Bridge on the A27 south of Romsey was due to have re-opened on Friday 22nd, between 17:00 and 00:00 according to various reports. According to Hampshire Council this leaves only the bridge at Belvers on Weston Lane, Nursling. This one is taking long, but I can see that the proposal is to build a new bridge to the south in the location of the former level crossing, quite visible here (was this used by the National Grid? New bridge drawings can be found for applications 12/00395/FULLS and 11/02857/SCRS at the Test Valley planning website. These links may give general views for this audience one two three four. Council officers have been requesting extra width on the new bridge to safely accommodate cyclists.
