Following door defects on the Class 155, new Class 156s were drafted to the Portsmouth Cardiff services. 156463 is seen departing Salisbury, and is now in the Northern fleet allocated to Heaton.

DTS 76271 of withdrawn 8102. Converted from TSO 4022 of 1956, and originally in 4-TC 402, but reformed as a 3-TC at Eastleigh following storage in May 1988. The TBFK beyond appears to be 71157.
DTS 76272 of withdrawn 8102, converted from TSO 4023. These three coaches were moved to Southampton for road transport to Vic Berry at Leicester, and the DTS coaches were scrapped there in July 1990.
