Apedale Valley Light Railway, 27th September 2025

The Apedale Railway is located in a former colliery area to the north west of Newcastle-under-Lyme, quite close to the M6 motorway. The railway has been created, and is operated, by the volunteers of the Moseley Railway Trust, and celebrated a 15th Anniversary Gala on 13th and 14th September.

On my visit, the first train of the day, at 11:30, was run by DH887, Baguley Drewry 3756 of 1982, which worked for the MoD, latterly at Dean Hill one two.

WOTO (Bagnall 2133 of 1924) being prepared at the engine shed.

Stanhope (Kerr Stuart 'Tattoo' 2395 of 1917) seen at the engine shed.

One of the exhibits in the museum is Ruston & Hornsby 280865 of 1949.
