SRPS Winter Diesel Gala, 29th December 2025 Part 2: 69005 'Eastleigh'

69005 emerged from the paintshop at Eastleigh on 29th April 2022, and like many other BR Green diesels, has become work stained since. 69005 was Romanian built 56007, new in April 1977. To a warm store status in January 2026, currently located at Tonbridge.

69005 waits in the bay platform at Bo'ness to work forward and then attach to the train. This was the locomotive's 2nd time in Scotland.

69005 departs with 1M41 11:00 Bo'ness - Manuel.

69005 on the rear of the returning 1M42 11:30 Manuel - Bo'ness, at Corbiehall.

69005 was then placed in a siding to make way for the pair of 56s.

Later, 69005 is seen on cab ride trips within Bo'ness station limits.

Working with Locomotive Services, and other engineering facilities, a programme is under way to upgrade the dual-braked SRPS main line coaches with Central Door locking. 3115 has been to Cranmore for some of this work, and awaits completion of bogie overhaul.

D2767 (North British, August 1960) was due to be started up later in the day.


'37309' is the new kid on the block. A cosmetically more pleasant 37214, a spares donor.
